Vanbhojan

Vana Bhojan is celebrated on Vaikuntha Chaturdashi. It has a Great importance in G.S.B. Community. The high point of the celebrations was the worship of the ‘avalo’ (amla) tree. The Partagal mutt has the grand tradition of performing vanbhojan at both its mutt premises in Goa, Partagal and Rivona. Legend has it that on this day, the gods go the forests and reside under the trees. Therefore, on this day, the auspicious Amla tree is worshipped with great devotion. In some places, devouts also cook food in the forests and distribute it among themselves as prasad.

At Shri Ram Mandir Wadala, The holy day rituals starts by performing Devata Puja and Naivedyam, Then Dev goes to forest. i.e it is taken to Hall. This is followed by Dhastri Havan. Then Elevan Pradakshina are done to Aavla & Tulsi Trees. After this, bali rituals are performed. Then Maha Naivedyam is shown to God, followed by MahaAarti. In the evening, God is brought back to Temple. After that Auction of various articles n vastra is done. The Van Bhojan ceremony ends with Maha Mangal Aarti in the night after the auction.
