Nagpanchami

Every year in the month of Shravan Nagpanchami is celebrated by worshipping the Nag Devta in Vasuki Mantap in Mandir premises.

Naga Panchami is a day of traditional worship of Nagas or snakes observed by Hindus throughout India. The worship is offered on the fifth day of bright half of lunar month of Shravana, according to the Hindu calendar.

On the Nagapanchami day, special pujas and Panchamrutha abhishekam are performed for the naga devatas, at the temple. For abhishekam in the temples, devotees offer one tender coconut from each house. The rituals start early in the morning with abhishek to nagadevtas which culminates with maha aarti in the afternoon.

The belief is that, those who are affected with the nagadosham will overcome the evils, if they perform the festival on this day with full of devotion.

Some of the poojas offered during the festival are:

  • Panchamrut Abhishek
  • Anna Santarpana
