Kakkad Arti/ Utthana Dwadashin

The Kakkad Aarti and Vishwaroop Darshan is one of the important festival in Shree Ram Mandir celebrated during Ashadha every year.

The Mandir premises looks very mesmerizing during this e time because every corner of the mandir is decorated with lots of Diya and Kakad Aarti of Lord Shree Ram is performed early in the morning.

In the temple uthaana puja is performed after the ratri puja. It is also known as ksheeraabdhi puja. A pandal is constructed surrounding the Tulsi pedestal and decorated well with sugarcane, garlands of mango leaves and flowers. Sugarcane is buried in the Tulsi pedestal and avale (fruits of the avali tree) and wet chinch (fruits of the tamarind tree) are put on it. Rangoli is made and deepams are lighted. After doing ksheerabhishegam to the Tulsi, the Uthaana puja is done, naivedhyam offered and aarti shown. The naivedyam offered is parched rice, mixed with fried bengal gram dal, til, jaggery and coconut shavings. After the aarti, the slokas from vedas, itihasas, puranas and also bhajans are recited. All the persons present, recite the prayers and also the sloka to wake up the Lord from his nidra. The Lord is supposed to rise from his nidra after this.
